Dune Pilot is a desert/stoner rock band from Munich, Germany. Founded in 2014, the band has earned a reputation for their electrifying live performances and has shared stages with legendary acts like Karma To Burn, Orange Goblin, Greenleaf, Color Haze, and Rotor.

The new album »Magnetic«, released in December 2023 via Argonauta Records, marks a triumphant return for Dune Pilot after a pandemic-induced hiatus. Founding members Andris Friedrich (vocals) and Christian Schmidt (guitar) lead the charge, channeling their earthy stoner roots with profound fuzz. Joining them are scene veterans Veit Schlembach (drums, ex-Password Monkey) and Konst Fischer (bass, ex-Smoke The Sky), infusing fresh energy and creativity into the band’s dynamic sound and songwriting.

Can you say a few words about your band?
Dune Pilot is playing fuzzy stoner for 10 years now. Still in love with heavy toned guitar music like in the first days.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
After riding out covid, we’ve been very impatient for releasing the new record so we could start promoting it on stage, where we belong.

What can you be most proud of last year?
We’re very proud of the new record »Magnetic«. A special moment for us, holding it in our hands.

What was your biggest regret?
We could have played more shows. But we dind’t want to return with empty hands, without the new record.

What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
The show with RotoR was very special for us, having this great honour again playing with them.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Seeing that if we all stick together, the scene survives pandemics.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
The tour is still being planned. So keep an eye on us.

What are your plans for this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
We always wanted to play shows and write music. I think that’s what every band wants the most. If people like what we do – even better!

What are your New Year’s Eve activities like?
We had lots of drinks and celebrated our new record. The train rolls on, baby!

How can people best support your band?
What we love the most is people coming to our shows and have fun. That means so much to us.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
We want to say thank you for your support. It’s kind of surreal but at the same time the best feeling knowing people like what you do. Muchas gracias! Keep the scene alive!
