Three dudes. Heavy riffs. Melodic tones.

Formed in 2019, Pariahlord plays stoner/doom metal with prog elements. The first EP »Embrace The Misery« was released in 2020 and was an instant success in the stoner rock scene. In 2021, the band recorded their debut album »Vultures« with producer Martin Buchwalter (Destruction, Tankard). »Vultures« was released in September 2022 via Boersma-Records.

Pariahlord are Carsten Schmitt (guitar, vocals), Jan Kurtze (bass) and Phil Röttgers (drums).

Can you say a few words about your band?
We are Pariahlord from Hagen, Germany. We founded the band in late 2019 and got our first release in 2020 with our EP »Embrace The Misery«. This was followed by our first album release in 2022 with our album »Vultures«. Ever since 2022 when we were allowed to play shows again we got the chance to play our material live all over Germany and even got us to Switzerland.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
The most challenging part of this year was to get back into writing new material and balancing our personal lives with our music lives. But we managed to figure that out quite well so far.

What can you be most proud of last year?
The new material we wrote is something that we are very proud of. We can’t wait to finish it up and go back to the studio.

What was your biggest regret?
Not starting out writing process earlier than we did. But everything has a way of working itself out.

What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
It is hard to single one out. But in the beginning of the year we played a show at Emma23 in Heilbronn. We had to cancel the first show back in September 2022 because of illness and so this was the new date in January and also became our final tour date for our album release tour. Everything about the show was awesome, from the long drive, to staying the night and having a great time with the hosts. Everyone at the show was so great and we had such a blast on stage and afterward.
But we do want to mention that we enjoyed every concert we played this year and want to thank everyone who made it possible.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
There is still a lot of really good DIY-shows that unfortunately don’t always get the recognition they deserve.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
You can see as at Metalnova Festival on February 3rd in Gummersbach, Germany. We are also setting up dates for the whole year right now. So keep your eyes peeled for dates. If anyone wants to get in touch with us about booking inquiries, you can write to us at booking@pariahlord.com.

What are your plans for the this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
The plan is to go back to the studio and record and release our second album and present it live on tour. We want to make the best of it, see new places, play at familiar places. See old friends we made as a group and also make new friends along the way.

How can people best support your band?
Follow us on our social media pages, share our music and of course come to our shows. Come say hi.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
We want to thank everyone who supports us, who listens to us, who helps us on tour, at the merch table and at home. Thank you very much, we appreciate all of you.
