Since its inception in 2017, Mourn The Light has played stages far and wide in the heavy metal underground, including festivals such as the Stormbringer Metal Festival, SXSW Stoner Jam 19, New England Stoner and Doom Festival and RPM Festival, and has embarked on tours covering large portions of both the United States and Canada.
In 2020, the band signed a worldwide deal with Argonauta Records in Italy and has since released a full-length album in 2021 and an EP in 2022, with production in the works for another full-length in 2024. In November 2023, they also released 4-way split with High Priest, Ice Howl and Archdruid.
Mourn The Light are Andrew Stachelek (vocals), Dwayne Eldredge (guitar), Kieran Beaty (guitar), Bill Herrick (bass), Kyle Hebner (drums) and Sean OrcAdams (keyboards).
Can you say a few words about your band?
Mourn The Light is a band that does not compromise on our sound to fit inside a box or any specific genre.
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Having day jobs! Seriously wish we could spend more time out on the road.
What can you be most proud of so far?
Each of our releases make me very proud. Seeing a vision through from start to finish and delivering what I feel is a great product.
What was your biggest regret?
My biggest regret musically is not doing it solely for the fun and enjoyment. When I was younger there was to much pressure trying to “make it” and I also found myself compromising musically to suit others and I no longer do that. I should have made that change years ago.
What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
We have played a lot of cool shows over the years, recently we had the pleasure of playing a couple shows with our friends in Haunt, and we had a great time on a short run with our friends in Iron Brigade from Pittsburgh. One of those shows was with Ironflame and Olathia as well. Great times!
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Nothing surprises me anymore…lol
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
I listen to and buy so much music it’s kind of insane. I have a huge collection. But recently some bands I’ve been enjoying a lot are Starbenders, The End Machine, Spidergawd, and Haunt.
Can you say something more about the music scene in Connecticut?
As a promoter, a former club owner, and a musician in the local scene, CT is full of some very amazing and talented bands with some truly beautiful people, I’m very proud to be a part of it and to have met so many fantastic people over the years.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Providence with Artillery on April 14
Legions of Metal in Chicago on May 4
July 19 in Cambridge MA
Possibly some tour dates happening late summer.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
To continue to write music that pushes us to our limits and to bring to as many people as possible and most importantly have fun.
How can people best support your band?

Do you have any message for your listeners?
We love you all for supporting us and we wish you all the best in your daily lives and we hope to meet you all at some point.
