The Vulcan Itch is an alternative/grunge/heavy rock trio based in Athens, Greece.

The band just released their second full-length album »Rise Of The Fallen« on March 28th, 2024 via The Lab Records. Available now on all major streaming platforms!

Can you say a few words about your band?
Formed in 2018, The Vulcan Itch is a groove rock power trio from Athens, Greece. In April 2020 we released our debut self-titled album and in May 2022 we released the EP »Trapped In A Cage«. On March 28th, we released our second full-length album »Rise Of The Fallen«, an album that straddles between heavy stoner rock and grungy noise-rock.

What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
For sure the biggest challenge was the recording process of our new album. We had a lot of rehearsals and many days in the studio. Of course it was tough to keep the time schedule for all the deadlines we had, but we managed.

What can you be most proud of so far?
We wanted to make an album to be proud of. We followed our vision and the result is what we had in mind. It really captures our feelings and mindset of this period of time and we couldn’t be more proud.

What was your biggest regret?
To be honest, there is nothing worth regretting as it was a very productive year and everything went as planned. If we have to say something in general, due to very limited time it could be that we were not able to play many shows in the past.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Our best concert so far was with our friends, Godsleep, which took place in Athens, in a mini tour we had together. The crowd was really warming towards us and enjoyed our show. We were thrilled with their reaction cause we first played some of our new songs from this album and they really embraced them.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Actually a memorable concert in Athens of Melvins. It was absolutely amazing!

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
There is a lot of cool stuff out there, some of our latest favorite albums to listen to are Mutoid Man – »Mutants«, GEL – »Violent Closure«, Cave In – »Heavy Pendulum«.

Can you say something more about the music scene in Athens / Greece?
There is a growing underground heavy scene in Greece in the last decade and a lot of bands are releasing new albums, going on tours in Europe, expanding the diy aesthetic and it’s treated in a very professional way. As well with the bands there is an ongoing evolution on all technical and artistic aspects of the underground scene.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?

Apr 28 DE Berlin, Urban Spee

What are your plans for the future as a band?
In the near future we want to do more shows promoting our new album »Rise Of The Fallen«. This is our main goal for this year and probably writing some new tunes.

How can people best support your band?
By the usual ways, listening to our music, buying some merch, showing up in our concerts and why not send us some love.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
We would like to thank all the listeners. Support the underground!
