UK/Taiwan psychedelic rock band Holotropics present their new full-length album »Yuanfen« which will be released on October 31st.
The 10-track album sees Holotropics continue to evolve their sound and collaborate with new musicians, with songs in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish.
The album is a meditation on time, impermanence, mortality, and the disconnection between humanity and the natural world. Holotropics weave these timeless themes alongside modern concerns of technological anxiety, ecocide, and isolation, while retaining their distinctive blend of punk, psychedelia, and world music.
The band has toured extensively in Taiwan, with additional performances at Music Bridge Tokyo (JP) in April 2025, as well as in Hong Kong and the UK.
Holotropics came in first place in this year’s “Voice Of The Child” contest at Carnival Fever Festival in Taichung, Taiwan, and were also selected to participate in Taiwan’s renowned indie showcase event “The Next Big Thing.

Holotropics isn’t a band that’s easy to define. While the Kaohsiung-based four-piece uses psychedelia as its anchor, Holotropics isn’t afraid to incorporate diverse influences into its sound.
From punk and garage rock to experimental and world music, Holotropics creates a unique form of psychedelic rock that can be both energetic and ethereal, heavy yet harmonious. Powerful guitar riffs, cosmic soundscapes, and multi-lingual lyrics delving into environmentalism, mysticism, and the human condition show that Holotropics is willing to evolve and grow outside traditional genre boundaries.
