Los Angeles-born, Joshua Tree-based powerhouse Flames Of Durga are excited to release the official video for their new single, »Spirit Guide« which was animated by Michael Wielock. The track is a moving ode to the band’s late father, who passed away during the making of their upcoming album. The video debuted at Scene Music Media and can be shared on YouTube. The song is available now on all streaming platforms for any playlist shares.

Produced by Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, Bloc Party, Death Cab For Cutie), »Spirit Guide« channels loss, transformation, and resilience through the band’s signature blend of thunderous riffs and emotional intensity.

Guitarist and vocalist Béah Romero says, “»Spirit Guide« is a song Cecilia and I wrote when we were feeling frustrated with life’s challenges and seeking a cathartic release through music. We knew we wanted an animated video to capture a powerful inner and outer journey, and working with our friend Michael Wielock was such a pleasure, our creative chemistry together is off the charts.”

Bassist and vocalist Cecilia Romero adds, “I had always dreamed of creating an animated music video, so this truly feels like a dream come true. After designing the single art, I wanted the video to live in that same bold black, white, and red world, with a touch of fiery flame. It’s unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Watching my art and Michael’s animation breathe together through this story was incredible. Our creative spark was pure, fiery magic.”

“When creating the main character, I envisioned a strong female warrior goddess, a symbol of resilience, fighting through struggle and transformation. Béah and I are honoring our father and our Native American ancestors on his side of the family. From the storm sequence and near-death moment to the winged lion’s rebirth, this video takes you on a powerful journey. The lyrics, ‘Hey Spirit Guide, can you show me the way through these dark days,’ were written during one of our most challenging times and I couldn’t be more proud of how it came to life.”

Animator Michael Wielock reflects, “Blood shot at 4:00am on a Tuesday night, scratching away at a tablet in the dark, wrangling the chaos of what I set out to do, producing and animating my first music video in six weeks, an actual trial by fire, while honoring the soul of the song and the band, my dear friends, and the art. It became its own kind of high. And I already miss it.”

Flames Of Durga is a rock power trio based in the California high desert, fronted by twin sisters Béah and Cecilia Romero. Known for their thunderous sound and electrifying performances, the band blends heavy riffs, emotional intensity, and empowering lyricism. The sisters began writing songs together as kids in Los Angeles, later forming the band after surviving a near-fatal car crash that sparked their drive to live with purpose. Joined by drummer Nate Million, they deliver raw, passionate rock inspired by artists like The Kills, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and L7.

Their debut album, recorded at Rancho de la Luna with Dave Catching (Queens Of The Stone Age, Mojave Lords), is out now with a new album in the works.
