The band comments: “IGMO’s sophomore album, »Absurd, Artificial, Potential« – a record that marks the band’s shift from straight rock & roll toward something more expansive, proggier, and artier.

Written during the years following college, the album captures the disillusionment of young adults facing the real world – rigged systems, power struggles, and ideals put to the test.

Musically, it’s an explosive blend: rooted in hard rock but enriched with psychedelic textures, acoustic melancholy, and surprising bursts of medieval flair and Javanese gamelan scales.”

IGMO is a rock band from Kediri, Indonesia, consisting of Pradio (vocals, guitar), Iga (guitar), Bintang (drums), and Anggra (bass).

The band identifies their sound as “Kawula-Rock” or “Rock-goers”, delivering a compelling fusion of ’70s hard rock nostalgia with a modern edge – imagine Wolfmother and Led Zeppelin having a laid-back coffee chat.

Their discography includes the full-length album »Take It Over« (2022), a live session album »Devil’s Still Alive« (2023), and five singles: »Head On Fire«, »Awesome«, »Peace Of Night«, »Dark Rhyme« (2021), and »Dystopian Tropical Sojourn« (2023).

Their second album, »Absurd, Artificial, Potential« is out now! »Absurd, Artificial, Potential« takes a bold step into the complexity of systems – how they entrap individuals and rival one another to feign perfection.

Musically, »Absurd, Artificial, Potential« is an advanced rock offering filled with exploratory elements. Its core is rock, but it incorporates a wide range of cross-genre influences: from SWAMI, The Black Angels, Nick Drake, Renaissance, Royal Blood, to Pink Floyd.

For example, »Curriculum« (first single) is a groovy rock track that’s as unpredictable as it is engaging, shifting seamlessly between genres and cultural influences; heavy metal, ska, and even Javanese pelog scales.

“Each track is carefully crafted,” IGMO note, “to see how far we can push from the first album.”
