American doom punk trio Thorgrim signs to Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records; unleash first single »The Movies«!

Argonauta Records is proud to announce the signing of US heavy voyagers Thorgrim. New album to be released later in the year via their imprint Octopus Rising.

Hailing from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Thorgrim deliver a fierce and unfiltered blend of doom, punk and black metal atmospheres, forging a raw and unpolished sound rooted in emotion, instinct and real life experience. Formed in 2023, the band was born from the need to create music that feels honest, stripped down and alive, far from artificial production and predictable structures.

Thorgrim are built on the chemistry between Mike on guitar and main songwriting duties, Tom on bass and Colton on drums, with all members contributing to composition and lyrics. Their sonic identity moves within doom and sludge territory, infused with punk urgency and a bleak edge that reflects both their environment and personal struggles.

Since their formation, Thorgrim have already released two demos, the first a seven track collection in 2023 and a second expansive eighteen track recording produced with Jeff Hinnendal at Hinnendal Studios in Green Bay, Wisconsin, establishing the band as a visceral and uncompromising presence in the US underground scene.

To celebrate the signing, Thorgrim are now releasing their first official single with Octopus Rising, titled »The Movies«, available HERE.

The track introduces the band’s harsh yet human approach, where imperfections become part of the language and every note is played with intention rather than polish.

With Thorgrim joining the Octopus Rising roster, Argonauta Records continues to expand its vision of heavy music beyond borders, embracing artists who put authenticity, emotion and sonic weight at the center of their art.
