Israeli post-grunge/stoner/hard rock trio Shadow Rebels premiere a brand new single »Cat Story«. This song is almost detective story about serial killer, narco baron and… cat!

The single is released both digitally and physically, appearing at »Legacy #162« compilation CD, distributed with Legacy Magazine.

»Cat Story« is the first single taken from the band’s forthcoming fifth full-length studio album, which will be released via Another Side Records.

Shadow Rebels was founded by Michael Rosenfeld in September 2004. The band played grunge/alternative rock and recorded their first demo same year.

In four next years, Shadow Rebels recorded second demo (2006) and debut album (2008), shot a few video clips, performed in some festivals and concerts all over Israel.

In the middle of April 2009 Shadow Rebels went on an indefinite hiatus.

In April 2013, Michael announced a reunion of the band, with the new line-up, and changing the sound and style to more progressive.

During April-July of 2014, the second album was recorded completely on analogue equipment.

In 2015, the band signed with Another Side Records, a division of Metal Scrap Records, and beginning their professional way to music release and distribution. It was celebrated with an official release of their second album, »Oversleep Hurricane«, and taking the part at United Metal Festival in Serbia in 2016. Few clips and live video shows were filmed. The band gigged a lot in local concert and festivals.

During 2016 – 2018, again with renewed line-up, Shadow Rebels recorded the third studio album, »On The Ride«. Unlike the previous release, which was recorded in a pure studio style, with many overdubs and individual recordings of the musicians, this time all the musicians entered the studio and simultaneously recorded the rhythm section for most songs in the album in 6 hours only. Later, recordings were completed with guitar overdubs and vocals. Major part of work took the mixing and mastering.

Shadow Rebels was close to disbanding, after personal drama of bandleader, and pandemic issues, that almost stopped the final stage of album production. Finally, the album was released in 2021.

»A Few Hours Of Love« single and »Liquid« EP were officially released in 2022. Sound of Shadow Rebels become more powerful, songs much understandable and easier for mainstream listeners. The style of the band becomes more hard rock, classical and post-grunge, and less progressive.

Shadow Rebels rode their first European tour in May 2023, through Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria, together with Archaic (HU), Strident (IL) and Serpent Lord (GR).

The »Deepest Gloom« single and »Nobody’s Land« EP were released in 2023 and 2024 respectively, and celebrated with shows in Bulgaria, including Total Metal Open Air.

In April 2025, Shadow Rebels played their second European tour, together with Blax (IT) and Beer Cannon (UK), promoting their upcoming new album.

The »Plastic Duck« EP was released in August, and the fourth full-length album, »Black & White Times«, in October 2025.

»Cat Story«, the first single from the forthcoming fifth album, was released in Germany on April 30, 2026 as a third track in »Legacy #162« compilation CD with circulation of 18 000. On May 1, the single was released digitally worldwide by the band’s home-label, Another Side Records.
