German gothic/doom metal band Imparity released their new EP »City Of Broken Dreams«; out now via Schattenpfade Support Circle!

Bochum, Germany based gothic/doom metal band Imparity is back with their new EP, »City Of Broken Dreams«, which was just released on April 12th, 2026 via Schattenpfade Support Circle.

Imparity is a doom metal band from Bochum, Germany, founded in 2016. Their music blends influences from hard rock, heavy metal, doom, dark metal, and gothic metal into a dark, atmospheric sound. Characteristic features include heavy riffs, melancholic melodies, atmospheric keyboard textures, and the expressive vocals of frontwoman Eva. The violin adds further dark and emotional timbres to the sound. Imparity stands for authentic, trend-free metal with its own unique style and powerful live energy.

A new chapter begins for Imparity: the painful loss of their bassist Greg has left deep scars. Yet, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the band is redefining itself. With the arrival of bassist Christian, who brings his own style and fresh impulses, new creative energy emerges from grief and transition – clearly audible on the upcoming EP »City Of Broken Dreams«.

Musically, the EP marks an important step in the band’s evolution. In addition to the new foundation on bass, Heiko in particular shapes the band’s renewed sound with violin and keyboards. His arrangements add further depth to the songs and expand the sonic landscape with atmospheric and emotional layers without sacrificing metallic power.

The EP features four tracks that showcase the band from multiple angles: two powerful metal songs meet two acoustic reinterpretations of well-known pieces, presenting familiar songs in a new light.

Markus from Kalthallen Studio is once again responsible for the production. Imparity sound both metallic and acoustically powerful and nuanced.

The mood of the release is also strikingly captured visually: the artwork was created by Wappenschmied, whose design perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the record.
