Founded in 2020, Finis Hominis is the fruit of the negativity and horror of three experienced musicians from the Greater São Paulo underground. Created under the influence of the purest sludge metal from bands like Grief, Dystopia, Noothgrush, and Primitive Man, mixed with the heaviness of death metal and crust punk, the power trio transmits in its music the growing anger and sadness in late capitalism.

»De Natura Horroris«, the band’s first album, was recorded in September 2025 at the Associação Cultural Sinfonia de Cães in São Paulo, produced by Renato Gimenez (Vazio), Kauê Santos (I Shot Cyrus), and the band itself. The work was conceived as a concept album representing a workday in the life of a salaried worker, critically addressing how contemporary labor relations shape and crush the individual on a global scale. Across seven tracks, the album articulates themes such as class struggle, urban mobility, food, sleep deprivation, machismo, and passive entertainment, fusing a dense and hostile sound with highly relevant social reflections.

Finis Hominis also has in its catalog the acclaimed debut EP »Sordidum Est« (released in February 2023) and the singles »Lorem Ipsum« (December 2022) and »Nem os Mortos São Neutros« (February 2024), released by the Abraxas label and recorded, mixed, and mastered by Renato Gimenez. In addition, the band has a live EP, »In Sole Putridum« (December 2024), and a music video for the song »Nem os Mortos São Neutros« produced by Paulo Ueno (Kalavera Filmes).

With a well-defined aesthetic and political approach, Finis Hominis has been establishing itself as a critical voice within the national sludge metal scene, using extreme music as a tool for denouncing and reflecting on the human condition. By combining lyrics in Portuguese, dense instrumentals, and a striking visual identity, the band reaffirms its commitment to the underground and to an unsettling, direct, and socially engaged art that transforms anger, pessimism, and disenchantment into powerful artistic expression.
