Pit Hag started in 2015 in Lawrence Fucking Kansas, LFK for short. Started by guitarist and main songwriter, Jason Spinelli, the mission was to finally fulfill a lifelong dream of bringing epic doom metal to a part of the world where the Liturgy of Doom was little known. Quickly joined by younger brother, Joe Spinelli, on guitar, long time friend, Greg Peterson, on bass and a new friend, Steve Hime, on drums, the band started orchestrating epics of Nordic lore, sword and sorcery, and dismal tales.

After a slow start, a few gigs and even a short break up, the Hag really found its footing in 2019 with a string of shows opening for small touring acts, finally finding a really unique voice in singer Tim Volpert, and immersing themselves into the ever growing and ridiculously talented metal scene of the greater northeast Kansas and Kansas City areas. They even managed to record a four song demo, releasing it solely online, via Bandcamp and YouTube.

Then Covid hit and everything went absolutely tits up! For a year and a half the Hag lay in wait, finally bursting back with the rest of the regional scene in late 2021 and they haven’t faltered since. Even a change at the drummer spot felt seamless. Kori Stabb would enter the chamber of the Hag in early 2023 as Steve decided they needed to move on.

And now the gods have truly smiled upon the band as they released their first actual CD, the truly saga-like »Hervor« EP!! Three songs, two of which clock in at just over ten minutes, the third an emotionally engaging instrumental interlude between the two slabs of Viking death, featuring the violin playing of a truly talented musician and friend, the LA based Debora Silva. So the frozen seas crack apart and open wide and the crew that is Pit Hag set forth, bringing tales of adventure and doom to all, and they hope you will join them!
