Stoner/sludge metal (‘smoker-metal’ to friends and fans) bandits Red Swamp might be familiar to anyone keeping a keen eye on the Eastern European underground metal scene. Since forming in 2015 they have released 3 albums, »Tiszassippi«, »Desertdrive« and most recently »Time To Die«, all receiving acclaim internationally and in their home country of Hungary. The band leveled up in 2024 and showed a new, darker side of themselves – delving into progressive grooves and song structures, varied vocals crowning their new, intricate tracks with soaring choruses and guttural snarls.
Red Swamp have supported Clutch, 1000mods, Stoned Jesus, Dopelord, Karma To Burn, Planet Of Zeus, Khirki and more international acts along with Hungary’s biggest metal bands (e.g. Lazarvs). The smokesome foursome also had the opportunity to bring their unique blend of heaviness to Germany and play Wacken: Open Air 2022, one of the biggest metal festivals on the planet after winning Hungary’s Wacken Metal Battle. The band has not rested since, highlighting their new sound and line-up with awesome new singles, giving longtime fans and newcomers alike a taste of what’s to come on their long-awaited fourth album.

The band celebrated 10 years of power in september of 2025, with a sold out show in legendary Hungarian club Dürer Kert in Budapest. Red Swamp routinely headline their own tours in Hungary and neighboring countries and are frequent festival visitors at home and abroad. If you get the chance, catch them live, they’re a fiery presence onstage! The band’s professional live shows radiate with freedom and joy, their tight playing complimented by the loose, approachable and fun atmosphere they create.
Red Swamp’s style is best described as a modern interpretation of the influences of bands like Lamb Of God, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Gojira and even Faith No More: ten tonne riffs, interesting song structures and memorable vocals with a distinctive and unique pulse.
Red Swamp’s new studio album, »Peace And Hate«, is carving out a new, modern sound and direction for the band. With 8 tracks, this is all killer, no filler. All songs to headbang, mosh and sing along to. 2 songs in Hungarian, just to spice things up.
