São Paulo, Brazil based symphonic gothic/doom metal band Tristis Symphoniam presents their debut EP, »Crying In The Darkness«, which was just released on May 22nd, 2026.

Formed in São Paulo, Brazil in 2024 by Robson de Medeiros and Joey Fernandes, Tristis Symphoniam combines the heaviness of doom metal with the sound of 90s symphonic metal bands, exploring the contrast between guttural and female vocals – the classic “beauty and the beast” aesthetic.

Inspired by names like Therion, Tristania, Theatre Of Tragedy, and Draconian, the band delves into themes of melancholy, existentialism, and romantic tragedy, with lyrics influenced by Álvares de Azevedo, Edgar Allan Poe, and Charles Baudelaire.

After their debut at Hellraiser Rock Bar (SP) and the release of the demo single »Tristis Symphoniam«, the group consolidated its presence in the underground scene, participating in the compilation »Doomed Serenades Vol. 3« and the Franco do Rock Festival (2025).

Tristis Symphoniam’s debut album releases in the first half of 2026, promising a dense, theatrical, and sophisticated sound.
