Callisto celebrates 20 years of »Noir« with a vinyl reissue and one-off special show at Helsinki’s Savoy Theatre in September!

Finnish post-metal outift Callisto are finally returning to the stage in September with possibly their most special show to date. Celebrating the critically acclaimed 2006 album »Noir« with its 20th anniversary vinyl reissue released by Svart Records in September, the band will also play a one-off show at the beautiful seated concert hall Savoy Theatre in Helsinki on September 18th. The album will be performed in it’s entirety, including all of the members present in the band during the »Noir« era.

Founded in Kokkola in 2001, but already established in Turku early on, Callisto has been laying low in recent years. However, the band’s versatile and nuanced metal achieved international popularity in the early 2000s. Their second full-length album, »Noir«, released in 2006, is a significant cornerstone of Callisto’s career.

• »Noir« is the album we have probably received the most feedback about over the years, the band admits.

• People make and send covers of »Noir« songs to us and the album is usually the first thing that comes up in conversation when you come across people who have some experience, memory or opinion about Callisto’s active years. »Noir«’s production and recording process was also difficult in its own way, so it’s already a reason to celebrate that it ultimately became an album that strongly defined the band’s early years, the band continues.

»Noir« has the menace and progressive edge of doom metal; the album is lively, looks forward darkly, moves from whispers to screams and ends with massive, powerful energy.

• The anniversary concert is and will perhaps also be the only opportunity to hear the album played live from start to finish as a whole. There will also be special touches that can be found on the album itself; wind instruments, all the members who were involved in the band during »Noir«’s time, and new arrangements of the songs while respecting the album and its production, Callisto promises.

The cinema-like concert hall of the Savoy Theatre creates a special setting for Callisto’s lively post-metal.

• Metal band concerts at the Savoy Theatre are really rare, it is more known for productions like jazz orchestras. Let »Noir«’s jazz influences be a kind of missing link and unifying factor in this sense as well.

• The production, spirit and atmosphere of the concert will fit the framework of the Savoy Theatre perfectly, and Callisto has never played in a hall with seating before, the band rejoices.

Callisto’s »Noir« vinyl reissue is out on the same date as the special concert takes place, September 18th, 2026. Tickets for the concert are available HERE.
