Following the recent announcement of their signing with Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records, Dutch doom death metal collective Oltas proudly unveil their brand new single »World Killer«, available now via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records on all digital streaming platforms HERE.
Known for their distinctive blend of crushing heaviness, emotional depth and spiritual introspection, Oltas continue to expand their sonic identity with a track that marks a significant milestone in the band’s evolution. »World Killer« is the first official release born from the newly established partnership with Argonauta Records and represents the opening chapter of an ambitious journey that will eventually culminate in the band’s first full length album, scheduled for release in 2027.
Rooted in the vast and ever changing landscapes of Friesland, Oltas have built a reputation for crafting music that balances darkness and light, aggression and reflection. Their songs explore personal experiences while simultaneously addressing broader questions concerning humanity, consciousness and our place in the world.
Featuring guest vocals by Rachel Westerveld, »World Killer« confronts the many threats facing humanity in contemporary times. Yet, true to the band’s artistic philosophy, the song avoids offering simple answers, leaving space for personal interpretation and individual reflection.

It is also the first single leading up to more singles and ultimately our first full-length album, to be released by in 2027. Yes, we take our time, but it will be worth the wait. Lyrically, »World Killer« stands for all kinds of threats humanity faces in our time. But as always there is room for your own interpretation as well. The artwork was once again created by our dear friend and talented artist Arjen Kunnen, known for his work with Amenra and many others. We always aim to reach a certain level of emotional engagement in our music, while at the same time creating a sense of community. »World Killer« is calling you.”
