South African doom/punk/grunge trio Pussy Heaven to release new three-track EP »Hymn« on June 30th!

Johannesburg, South Africa based doom/punk/grunge trio Pussy Heaven has announced their new three-track EP, »Hymn«, which will be released independently on June 30th, 2026.

With this EP, Pussy Heaven brings a fresh take on the doom genre. Designed as a sonic journey in three acts, »Hymn« looks at the state of our current world and acts as a prayer in resistance against it.

Pussy Heaven are the masters of reinvention.

Founding members Tessa and Auriel have been making music together since 2005, where they were both members of the raucious punk outfit Rokkeloos. They formed the rock+roll trio Cortina Whiplash in 2009 after Rokkeloos disbanded, and continued to record and tour relentlessy for a decade, garnering a following for their energetic live shows.

Pussy Heaven was officially formed in 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa, What started as a live looping experimental duo quickly grew into fully fledged musical onslaught when bassist Jade joined the group in 2024. Their music became heavier and darker than anything they’ve done before, a true reflection of the times we are living in. Anthems for the end of the world.

They have already played the most popular stages and festivals in the local alternative scene. Their work has been featured in international music blogs, as well as in the cult horror publication, Fangoria.

The band is currently prioritising creating new music, trading the stage for the studio and collaborations. »Hymn« is the first offering since they introduced their music to a global audience in 2025, a conceptual body of work to take in as a whole.
