»Club Atletico Voces Y Gritos« is the new release by Petrolio, the solo project of Enrico Cerrato, a versatile Italian artist able to move with ease between experimental and noise music. The album is set to be released on vinyl, CD and digital formats on June 12, 2026 via Subsound Records.

The album features five tracks of strong emotional intensity enveloped in raw darkness, all composed and performed by Petrolio. Each pièce boasts the evocative vocals of an international guest artist: Alòs, the stage name of Italian musician and performer Stefania Pedretti, co-founder of the noise duo OvO with Bruno Dorella; Bestial Mouths, a project by American musician Lynette Cerezo, active in the goth, industrial, and noise genres; Julinko, a dream doom/dark folk project by Italian musician Giulia Parin Zecchin; Pallas Athene, an ethereal alt-pop project by Canadian musician Breanna Johnston; Pierpaolo Capovilla, musician, songwriter and leading figure of the Italian independent rock scene, active first with One Dimensional Man and later with Il Teatro degli Orrori.

The author describes the concept as follows:

“24/03/1973 – 10/12/1986. Our world does not love history. It does not love to understand it, nor to teach it. Between 1970 and 1990, extremely violent and bloody dictatorships arose in South America. Suppression of rights, imprisonment, deprivation of freedom, torture, murder. This happened not millions of years ago, but only a few decades ago – history repeating itself today, with other human beings annihilated without mercy. I wanted artists to give a soul to the voices and screams, to feed into the music I composed years ago for Club Atletico, one of the many clandestine detention centers of the Argentine dictatorship. That’s why Voces Y Gritos – literally Voices and Shouts.” — Petrolio

The single from »Club Atletico Voces Y Gritos«, titled »La Picana«, was released on May 15, 2026, and features Pierpaolo Capovilla on vocals. The picana was a torture tool used by the military during the Argentine dictatorship in clandestine detention centers. Capovilla transforms this suffering into poetry – a song of despair and escape from imprisonment. Interacting with the sounds and noises produced by Petrolio, he creates a dark sonic layer for this fragment of contemporary history that is still unknown to many.

Petrolio – With more than 140 live performances in Italy and Europe, Petrolio is the solo project by Enrico Cerrato, a versatile artist able to move with ease between experimental and noise music, soundtracks and compositions for the theatre. In recent years, the artist has released numerous singles, EP and albums, playing throughout Europe, sharing the stage with artists like Lingua Ignota, Lustmord, Karin Park, Jesu, Fennecs, Of the Wand & the Moon, Winterkälte, Uochi Toki, Bologna Violenta, Mai Mai Mai e Panko, and performing in international festivals . It boasts high profile collaborations with artists of the caliber of Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten), Aidan Baker (Nadja), as well as many noble names of the Italian noise/industrial scene as Italian as Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Almagest!, Blind Cave Salamander, Coypu, Larsen, XXL), Sigillum S, Stefania Pedretti (OvO, Alòs) and Mai Mai Mai.

ALòS – The stage name of musician, performer, and artist Stefania Pedretti, who has lived in Milan, Berlin, and Ravenna, where she currently resides. Active since 1998, she is the co-founder of the noise duo OvO alongside Bruno Dorella and of the collective Allun with Natalia Saurin. She launched her solo project Alos in 2003.

Bestial Mouths – As the voice and spirit of Bestial Mouths, Lynette Cerezo is a powerfully haunting figure. Across international stages and recordings, her spellbinding performances take audiences through deeply emotional voidic visions. From their inception in 2009, the core root of Bestial Mouths has combined Cerezo’s voice with myriad genre influences across the spectrum of goth, industrial, post-punk, New Wave, noise, metal, and other underground sounds using live acoustic and electronic drums and analog synthesizers.

Julinko – The artistic and musical project of Giulia Parin Zecchin, exploring themes of symbolism, mythology, and hermeticism through experimental, dark, and post-rock sounds – moving between songwriting and slow, ritualistic atmospheres.

Pallas Athene – The ethereal alt-pop project created by Breanna Johnston. After playing in various rock and folk bands for nearly a decade in Toronto, she injured her hands and took some time away from guitar in order to heal – a hiatus which led to an adventure in making electronic music.

Pierpaolo Capovilla – A musician and songwriter from the Italian independent rock scene. As singer and bassist of one of the seminal bands of the ’90s, One Dimensional Man, he later founded Il Teatro degli Orrori in 2005, a project where he explored his familiar soundscapes, this time singing in Italian. Capovilla’s work clearly reflects his devotion to the raw tradition of American rock, his deep connection to Russian poetry and drama, as well as his civic commitment and attachment to democratic values – constantly reaffirmed both during concerts and in public appearances.
