»En Ruinas« is Ancestro’s latest studio album, written and produced between December 2024 and March 2025. The record was mixed and mastered at Heavy Haze Audio Lab, featuring Rafael Paul on guitars, Boris Baltodano on bass, and Diego Cartulin on drums, synthesizers, and clean guitars.

Inspired by life in Trujillo, Peru, the album explores the city’s transformation—from its once combative spirit to a present shaped by decay, loss of identity, and day to day violence. Across eight tracks, it moves through symbols and moments of this decline, forming a critical and emotional sonic testimony.

The cover artwork, created by Boris Baltodano, reinterprets the faces of the Monument to Liberty in Trujillo’s main square, representing virtues such as freedom, labor, and dignity. The visual component, also developed by Baltodano, captures the city’s landscapes and remnants through a raw and honest lens.
