Mesa, Arizona based solo artist John Feula (Instant Hobo) has unveiled a brand new single »The Crystal Egg«, released on July 7th, 2026.

Inspired by the 1897 H.G. Wells short story, John Feula’s new single, »The Crystal Egg«, is a nearly eight-minute sci-fi nightmare of twists, turns, shifting tempos, and relentless riffs.

The track is a heavy, aggressive, and melodic journey through mid-70s to early-80s metal, nodding to albums like Judas Priest’s »Sad Wings Of Destiny« and Mercyful Fate’s »Melissa«.

The new single features the intricate hyper-melodic bass work of Jon Helpingstine alongside the classic groove and melodic phrasing of drummer Walter Spano, with cover art by artist Dan Meneely.

Arizona singer-songwriter John Feula is a sonic architect of everything from Americana to heavy, progressive landscapes. Moving from the nautical storytelling of »To Fiddler’s Green« and »The Sea Dog« he plunged into crushing, Sabbath-like doom with »Iscariot«, setting the stage for the progressive »Ancient Machine«. Coming in July of 2026, the heavy multi-part epic »The Crystal Egg«!
