Denver heavy rockers Burning Sister premiere new single and music video »Plunge«

Denver, Colorado based heavy rock duo Burning Sister premiere a music video for their brand new single »Plunge«, released on July 12th, 2026.

Tracklist:
01. Plunge
02. Fadeout (live)

Denver bass and drum duo, Burning Sister, do their best to make the racket of a four-piece band with an array of amps, ABY boxes, and fx pedals. On their latest single, »Plunge«, the band stays true to their weighty doom roots while following their gear into heavy shoegaze realms occupied by the likes of MBV, Swirlies, Swervedriver and noisegaze greats, Medicine. Combine this lush, atmospheric haze with the weight of bands such as Torche, Slomatics, and Big Business and you get an idea of where Burning Sister is sonically. »Plunge« is backed with a live version of »Fadeout« which originally appears on the band’s »Get Your Head Right« EP in studio form. Live, as a two-piece, »Fadeout« is perhaps even heavier than the initial recordings and just as spacey.

“»Plunge« is really the result of experimentation, following the gear, and not letting go of a bass riff that I’ve been playing for years, but couldn’t develop into a song. How can I make our two-piece sound like we have a couple of guitarists on stage with us without relying on backing tracks? How do we create more movement and separation between bass guitar signals? We found that the answer invariably relies on more pedals and modulation haha. But the real breakthrough was finding a way to mimic “glide” strumming and, hopefully, making it sound sonically not too artificial. With the pieces in place, we just kept jamming until we hammered it into a hazy form.” — Steve Miller

»Plunge« recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jamie Hillyer at Module Overload.

»Fadeout« recorded live at Dog House Music Studios 11/15/25. Mixed and mastered by Jamie Hillyer at Module Overload.
