Portland, Oregon based gothic sludge metal trio Hexenghül has announced their new single »Masquerade«, which will premiered on July 24th, 2026.

»Masquerade«, the new single from gothic sludge metal band Hexenghül, will be available on all major streaming platforms on July 24th, 2026.

Marking a new chapter for Hexenghül, »Masquerade« is the first release following the band’s relocation to the Pacific Northwest, its first recording as a three-piece, and the debut of new drummer David Lee. The new three-piece configuration has led to a more focused and uncompromising approach, allowing the band’s darker and heavier elements to take center stage.

The track was self-recorded and co-produced with Christopher “Q” Quintanar, making it the band’s most hands-on production to date. Lyrically, »Masquerade« confronts sociopathy and the use of manipulation and influence as a front for predatory establishments. There is also a much less metaphorical vein running through the song, commenting on the very public, vile display of degradation carried out by those in the highest seats of power in our modern society. The song emits a dark and disturbing atmosphere through brooding melodies, crushing riffs, and the haunting female vocals that have become a hallmark of Hexenghül’s sound.
