Russian epic doom metal veterans Scald unleashed their new EP »Relics«; out now through Cruz Del Sur Music!

Yaroslavl, Russia based epic doom metal veterans Scald have just released their new EP, entitled »Relics«,  on September 4th, 2026 through Cruz Del Sur Music.

Cruz Del Sur Music is proud to release the new Scald EP, »Relics«, out on September 4th (The date was chosen to honor the memory of Agyl, who passed away on September 6th). This release officially marks the debut of the band’s new vocalist, Hrafn (also known for his work with Russian epic doom metal outfit Vendel).

Three of the EP’s five songs – »Master Of Tundra«, »Ravens«, and »Flame« – were originally written following the recording sessions for the band’s legendary album, »Will Of The Gods Is Great Power« (which spanned from spring 1996 to fall 1997, the year original vocalist Agyl tragically passed away).

Additionally, the track »Falcon« dates back to 1991–1992, originally composed by Agyl for his pre-Scald project, Ross. To honor the memory of their late, great vocalist, Scald decided to re-record this piece. Alongside the English version, they recorded it in Russian – the original language in which Agyl first performed it.
