Dying Victims Productions is proud to present to present the first two EPs of Spain’s Whisper, »Whisper« and »Liminal Spaces«, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
Hailing from Spain, Whisper was born in 2022 as drummer José Vicente Aldeguer (Iron Curtain, Phantom Spell, War Dogs, Chantrice) started recording some ideas for a potential new project. After having three songs and a cover ready, Whisper’s self-titled first EP was released digitally in 2023, receiving pretty good reviews from national and international media. In January of the next year, the project performed its first live show, presenting also a new song off the upcoming EP, »Liminal Spaces«. With this stage experience established, Aldeguer pursued Whisper as a fully-solo endeavor in the studio, recording everything himself.
Suitably impressed by »Whisper«, Dying Victims now joins the three original tracks from that EP with the two new tracks on »Liminal Spaces«, all remixed & remastered. Totaling 40 minutes, Whisper’s two EPs provide a mystical, magickal landscape for adventurous listeners to freely roam. The band’s base foundation is indeed prog and traditional metal – going from Diamond Head and Iron Maiden to Blue Öyster Cult and Asia, Demon and Mercyful Fate to even Opeth and Hallas – but with especial emphasis on cleaner-toned melodies and spacey vintage synths, »Whisper / Liminal Spaces« works its spell immediately even as the prodigous chops and epic song structures dazzle the senses. Proving that the best is yet to come, Whisper conclude the collection with the selfsame “The Whisper,” a 12-minute journey to splendorous, awe-inspiring locales…the destination is fully within the imagination!
