Bongripper is a four-piece instrumental doom band from Chicago, Illinois, known for their incredibly heavy and atmospheric sound. They formed in 2006 and have since become cult favorites in the underground metal scene. Their style blends ultra-sludgy doom with a sense of crushing heaviness, often stretching songs to epic lengths. They’re also known for their minimalist approach to songwriting, focusing on slow, monolithic riffs that slowly build up to overwhelming climaxes. Since 2006, they have released 8 full-length albums.
