Jointhunter is a four-piece groove/sludge metal band based in Mexico City, Mexico. Formed in 2016, the band has built a underground reputation for blending slow, heavy sludge elements with aggressive groove metal rhythms.

The band initially started as a musical duo between Álvaro (guitars) and Jorge (drums). Seeking to craft powerful, intricate, and high-energy riffs backed by thunderous drum beats, they eventually expanded their sonic footprint. They brought in Polo to hold down the low-end on bass, and finalized their lineup with Alex, whose piercing, visceral vocals added a volatile edge to their aggressive instrumentation.

Combining influences from Pantera, Sepultura, and Down, Jointhunter’s sound is heavily characterized by down-tuned guitars and a brain-melting blend of sludge, groove, and doom metal.
