Polish doom/alternative metal act The Black Thunder, which also features members of Calm Hatchery, Tyran and others, will release their third full-length album entitled, »Time Obliteration«, on 16 October 2026 via Pagan Records.
An evolution from the stoner and groovy elements featured in their 2017 debut full-length »Visions In Black« and their 2021 sophomore album »Into The Darkness We All Fall«, »Time Obliteration« takes the band towards much darker, heavier territory. The new material mixes black metal atmospheres with sludge weight, technical precision, infectious grooves, and unexpected avant-garde elements.
Built on a DIY foundation and forged by years of active dedication to the underground scene, The Black Thunder never aimed for perfect overproduction. Instead they opted for brutal, intense and gritty sound infused with some crust influences. To capture this genuine, live sound, »Time Obliteration« was tracked entirely as a live session at Dobra 12 Studio in Białystok, Poland by Piotr Polak.

The resulting live-in-studio recording was mixed and mastered by the renowned Haldor Grunberg, contributing to the improvement of what is arguably the band’s most honest and uncompromising material to date. This vision carries over to the visual presentation, which features striking, hand-painted cover art by the legendary Rok (Sadistik Exekution, Sadistik Art) alongside graphic layouts by Łukasz “Pachu” Pach (Hostia).
The lyrics are centered around the motifs of existential anxiety, internal conflict, and distorted perception. The lyrics have been written and performed by frontman Marcin Szczepański, mainly in English, with some sections of Polish adding intensity and emotion to the composition.
Those interested in the new record will have an exclusive opportunity to experience »Time Obliteration« performed live in its entirety at the upcoming Thunder Fest held in Poland on 12 September 2026, ahead of the album’s official release on 16 October.
