Austrian post-rock/post-metal quartet Our Ceasing Voice return with their new album »The Origin Of Everything«, due October 2nd via Argonauta Records.

Our Ceasing Voice was founded in 2006 in Innsbruck, Austria, and has since become one of the country’s defining post-rock acts. The band’s music is driven by distinctive vocals, heavy guitars, thoughtfully constructed drums and the tension of silence and noise.

Across three full-length albums and several EPs, Our Ceasing Voice has continuously reshaped their sound, carrying it to stages across Europe, the UK, and China.

From the epic, almost instrumental journeys of their debut EP »Steadied Stars In The Morphium Sky« to the expanding emotional depth of the full-length albums »When The Headline Hit Home« and »That Day Last November«, the band has never stood still.

In 2017, Our Ceasing Voice reinvented itself with the addition of vocalist Dominik Dörfler. His raspy, low-register vocals became a defining element of »Free Like Tonight«, an album that blended cinematic rock, dark ambient and indie influences. With band-founder Sebastian Obermeir (guitar), Markus Rappold (drums), Dominik Dörfler (vocals), and Jakob Schuierer (bass), the band then returned to writing with a wider scope and deeper intent.

Nearly a decade after their last full-length release, »The Origin Of Everything« marks a powerful return for the Innsbruck-based quartet. Written over several years, the album reflects on identity, memory, belonging and personal transformation, exploring the tension between embracing the future while confronting the past.

»The Origin Of Everything« is the band’s most personal and emotionally resonant work to date. Blending cinematic post rock atmospheres, crushing post metal dynamics and alternative rock sensibilities, the record expands the band’s sonic palette while remaining unmistakably true to its identity. Echoes of Caspian’s expansive soundscapes, the weight of Cult Of Luna and the emotional depth of Mark Lanegan coexist naturally throughout an album built on contrast, vulnerability and intensity.

Created entirely independently, from the earliest songwriting sessions through recording, mixing and artwork, the album stands as the culmination of nearly twenty years of artistic evolution.
