Dortmund, Germany based death/sludge metal group Godmorgon stream their debut album, »Out Of Spite«, which was just released on April 13, 2023.

Punk-infused death metal/sludge from Dortmund, Germany.

Godmorgon was founded in 2019 and has developed into a death/sludge metal band combining harsh vocals, groovy riffs and raw, straightforward energy. The band’s sound has been shaped by the many different musical influences of the band’s members: hardcore, punk, doom, extreme metal, grindcore and even black metal. Lyrical themes include feminism, anti-capitalism and warnings of an apocalyptic future if humanity continues to let this world go to shit. The band is named after IKEA products.

»Out Of Spite« is Godmorgon’s first album containing all songs we have written so far. The album title was inspired by Itza’s (main vocals) desire to form a female fronted metal band after being to yet another concert with only men on stage. So this band, and subsequently the album, was created out of spite.

Godmorgon also released a music video for the track »Soul«. “This is our video for »Soul«, one of the songs of our debut album »Out Of Spite« that was released on April 13th, 2023. Matching the DIY approach of the whole album, we filmed this with a smartphone while on vacation in Portugal this spring. The filming location was at the Cascata da Candosa.” the band adds.
