D. Beretta (Drakkar) and E. Rastelli (Crown Of Autumn) created Crimson Dawn in 2005 as a side project. After a demo-CD, the project was shelved. In 2008, Dario made the decision to resurrect it and shape it into a real band. Since then, the band has recorded four full-length albums and two EPs, and played several shows across Europe.

The Italian epic doom metal band Crimson Dawn has announced the release of their fourth album, »It Came From The Stars«, during the spring of this year, 3 years after »Inverno« and 1 year after the digital release of the EP »The Open Coffin«, once again on Punishment 18 Records.

»It Came From The Stars« is, for all intents and purposes, the beginning of a new era for the Italian band, with the new singer Claudio Cesari taking the place of Antonio Pecere behind the mic. Line-up changes are always risky, double more so when you have a new vocalist, especially for a band like Crimson Dawn who always put melodies as the focal point of their music; however, the doom metal masters have once again struck gold with Claudio, whose powerful, commanding voice is a perfect fit for the band’s theatrical, but at the same time heavy and direct, approach. With him, the band has forged another slab of truly epic doom, with the usual mixture of influences from traditional metal, folk and ‘70s progressive rock that make their sound unique. You don’t have to take our word for it: just wait for the album to drop! Crimson Dawn will arise!

The first pressing includes a bonus disc with the CD version of the »The Open Coffin« EP, previously only available digitally.

Lyrics video for »The Masque Of Red Death«, based on the short story by Edgar Allan Poe by the same name, is a perfect showcase for the epic heaviness of the new Crimson Dawn opus, led by the front from the powerful vocals of our new singer, Claudio Cesari. A perfect appetizer for what we believe can be one of the most exciting releases of the year in epic doom!

Says the band: “The images you’ll find in it were created by Midjourney, and then animated by our trusted lyrics video maker, Tiago Silva. We are now aware of the controversy surrounding AI art, but when the video was created, we weren’t. We thought it was just a cool new technology – we didn’t have the insight that we have now, so we didn’t know the engine of that program had been trained to copy existing art without the artists’ consent. So, while we enjoy the result, it’s not an experiment we will repeat in the future. We respect artists and we will always support them. We just couldn’t pull a video already done and paid for – we’re an underground band – but rest assured we will be careful in the future.”
