Bismut is an instrumental power trio from Nijmegen (The Netherlands) formed in 2016. Drawing influences from an eclectic blend of genres including progressive rock, heavy psych, doom, metal, stoner and classic hard rock, their music is an intense and mesmerizing fusion that transcends traditional boundaries. Their distinctive sound has earned them a dedicated fanbase, and their performances on stages across Europe (including festivals as Dunajam, Desertfest, Psychedelic Network, Krach Am Bach, Sonic Whip or Tabernas Desert Rock Fest) have solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
So far, the band has put out two self-released stand-alone singles and two studio albums (both quickly sold out) through Dutch indie label Lay Bare Recordings (Frayle, Rosy Finch, RRRAGS): »Schwerpunkt« (2018) and »Retrocausality« (2020), that became favourites for fans of Rotor, Karma To Burn, Mastodon, Elder, Kanaan, Electric Moon or Slift.
Back in February 2023, Bismut announced that Lay Bare Recordings and Spanish indie label Spinda Records (Moura, Fin del Mundo, Moundrag, Travo) were joining efforts in order to introduce their sound to a wider global audience. New studio album »Ausdauer« – available on 20th October 2023 – marks the triumphant return of the band, promising to be a sonic journey that delves even deeper into their diverse influences while pushing their sound to new heights. From thunderous, doom-laden riffs to mind-bleeding psychedelic explorations, the album seamlessly weaves together a tapestry of textures that will resonate with long-time fans and newcomers alike.
