Regarded as one of the finest guitarists of the modern rock scene by international critics, Alberto Piccolo aka Little Albert is known for his work in the revered Italian doom metal band Messa, which has garnered exceptional feedback on the global heavy scene and performed on major stages across Europe, the UK and the US. Recorded at Matteo Bordin’s Outside Inside Studio (Mojomatics, Omega Squad), »The Road Not Taken« deals with the concept of choice and is divided into a series of reflections on love gone wrong, regrets and mental health. The setting of »The Road Not Taken« story takes us in the Arizona desert, with Little Albert’s inspiring and deeply moving 70s blues rock as a soundtrack. With support from Alex Fernet on bass and Diego Dal Bon on drums, this new album also features a special cover of Louisiana bluesman Little Walter’s celebrated classic »Blue And Lonesome«. Recorded on analog tape, »The Road Not Taken« exudes both a vintage authenticity and an unwaveringly modern attitude.
His flawless guitar technique and crystalline vocals recall timeless blues heroes such as Muddy Waters while mingling his own brand of experimentalism – the result of a relentless reflection and deconstruction that makes Little Albert one the most gifted new artists of the Italian music scene.
