Doomed Confessionary: Simon, Hugo, Phil & Charlie Boy (The Naked High)

Formed in 2015 with a love for blues music & rock ‘n’ roll, The Naked High is a rock band from Montreal, Quebec. After releasing its first two EPs, the band slightly changed its creative process. The heaviness is still present but a heavy rock/hair metal approach brings a party vibe to the new material. The soul of the solo and the gift of the riff. The blues from the heart and the color in the art.
With new single »Hot Poison«, The Naked High recently announced their upcoming EP »High Caliber Electric Swagger«.
The Naked High are Simon Ouellet on vocals, Hugo Leclerc-Charron on guitar, Phil Rod on bass and Charlie Boy Cayouette on drums.
Can you say a few words about your band?
The Naked High is a heavy rock band from Montreal Quebec. Self-described as the illegitimate child of Black Sabbath and Van Halen, we combine two eras of music into our own distinct sound.
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Finishing our third EP took some reflexion, we had to find the right production and image that would fit our switch of direction in terms of style and sounds. I think we highly succeed.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We’re very proud of what we recorded. We wrote good songs that can reach a lot more people. It leans more into 80’s heavy metal with a touch of hair metal but you can still tell where we come from. We really wanted to do something different that stands out and we did.
What was your biggest regret?
Not playing enough shows and covering more area, but with life in general and everything, we’re doing the best we can!

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Easily Osisko festival in Rouyn Noranda, where after weather complications and a lot of luck we played after Three Days Grace. It was an insanely huge crowd and we had a lot of fun.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
There’s so many bands haha.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
The latest Judas Priest and Zakk Sabbath’s »Doomed Forever Forever Doomed«.
Can you say something more about the music scene in Montreal area?
There’s a lot of good bands and a lot of music genres, there’s something for everyone
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
Nothing yet that we can tell, we are still working on booking some dates.
What are your plans for the future as a band?
We are currently releasing music of our third EP so follow us to hear what’s coming next!
How can people best support your band?
