Zarqa, Jordan based melodic doom/death metal band Chalice Of Doom return after a more than 10-year hiatus with a bunch of new releases: single »Shades Of Death« (March 29th, 2024), EP »Ethereal Echoes« (April 6th, 2024) and third full-length album »Eclipse« (May 1st, 2024). More music to be expected in 2025.

Chalice Of Doom is a melodic death/doom metal band that was formed in Zarqa, Jordan in early 2010. Summing up influences from the 90s doom/death metal sound, the melodic visions and the doomy recordings have created a solid will to bring such music to Jordan, challenging the society and the misunderstanding of the atmospheric themes of this music. Tracks like »Endless Prison« and »To Dust I Shall Return« inspired the band to create the debut album »Immemorial Nightfall« that has been released via Satanarsa Records.

Chalice Of Doom’s first performance at Blast Night II (24-08-2012 at Rainbow Theater in Amman) that opened the door for a new era in the Jordanian scene since the local government has aborted many metal concerts and banned such events for years, letting the message of the band reach further limits and giving the members more inspiration to start writing new material.

An article by Rolling Stone magazine described the the situation of the band’s new direction and its intention to create more doomy/atmospheric music for the second album, and gave some details about one of the tracks that will be covering the local Middle Eastern political situation in a plate of doom/death metal.

In early 2013, Chalice Of Doom signed with Spanish label Memento Mori who has also released their second album »Into Hypnagogia«. The album features guest performances by artists, such as Roger “Rogga” Johansson (Massacre, Paganizer, Furnace, Johansson & Speckmann), Christina Kroustali (Die Verbannten Kinder Evas) and Marius Strand (The Fall Of Every Season).
