Gentle Beast – fuzzy, powerful desert rock riffs paired with spacey melodies. As the name suggests, a love child between mystical gentleness and wild beast. Inspired by genre masters like Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Truckfighters or Red Fang, the five-piece from Basel, Switzerland, has dedicated itself to low-tuned guitars, raw vocals and heavy psychedelic sounds.
Since its formation, the core of the band has been carried by frontman Timo Dinter’s dusty voice and the distorted guitar walls of Manuel “Cioffi” Ciofalo and Janek Huschke, with Alexander Streit on drums and Tobias Rickli on bass completing the band for about two years. To the Basel dudes it has always been clear that they want to do more than just generic stoner rock. The live shows of these friendly beasts are accordingly varied: Collective head-nodding, dancing with a giant plush joint or jumping into the audience for the final Kyuss cover are the order of the day. To date, they have played over 50 shows, supporting renowned bands such as High Reeper, Duel, Monkey3 or King Buffalo.
