Panama stoner/sludge/alternative metal duo AlphaWhores share new single and music video »Over And Over«; European tour kicks off this month!

Panama City, Panama based stoner/sludge/alternative metal duo AlphaWhores has released a brand new single and music video »Over And Over«.
Says the band: “Recently Hot Chip’s Tiny Desk performance was fed to us by the YouTube algorithm. As we watched we noticed the opening track »Over And Over« had a very cool chord structure which could probably benefit from a touch of doom. As we heard the lyrics: ‘Laid back, we’ll give you laid back’ we thought: ‘Let’s make this even more laid back’.”
Massiel Pinzón and Juan Carlos García de Paredes are AlphaWhores. It is a supergroup of sorts, with both Massiel and Juan Carlos having had long and successful careers in music before they came together as AlphaWhores.
Massiel and Juan Carlos started working together over twenty years ago when they were both members of the Panama based alternative rock band Mabí and they’ve collaborated on various musical projects since then.
In 2021, following the end of longstanding personal relationships for them both, Massiel and Juan Carlos found themselves in the studio together jamming and making new music, as a way to help them process the changes happening in their lives. The studio sessions were so successful that they decided to make it into a new music project and AlphaWhores was born.

AlphaWhores released their debut album, »I« (“one”), in January 2024 on Juan Carlos’s Editoris label, preceded by the singles »Same Team«, »Raw Nerve«, and »GTO«. The album was produced and mixed by Evan Rodaniche. With limited promotion the album has spread organically via word of mouth in the metal community worldwide.
AlphaWhores released their new single »Over And Over« on January 17th 2025, ahead of their first 20 date European headline tour in February and March.
AlphaWhores live in Panama, Central America.
