As stated by Everything Is Noise, “»Pay Dirt« is a hard-hitting and no-questions-asked cut lifted from the album, perfectly encapsulating the certain hues of ravage savagery the band has made most of their colour palette to be.” While Dave Curran’s trademark mountain-heavy bass tone and gritty shrieks cement Baratro’s sonic attack past devastating levels, the trio’s recent debut album »The Sweet Smell Of Unrest« is a rabble-rousing delivery from start to finish and explores different facets of the Baratro arsenal from uptempo hardcore assaults to nasty doomy breakdowns, all mixed up with their penchant for odd time signatures, ear-shattering riffs and thunderous grooves. Don’t miss their latest videos for »Fight The Parking Meter« and »The Bad, The Bad And The Ugly«.

Baratro recently announced a special show in support of Buñuel on February 6th, 2025 at Spazio Teatro 89 in Milano, Italy.
“The Sweet Smell of Unrest is as catchy as it is terrifying.” — Metal Hammer Magazine
“Superior noise rock like you’ll barely hear these days.” — Gonzo Circus Magazine
“Angst, destruction and absolutely on fire. Big sound, big fun.” — Doom Charts
“A claustrophobic sludge/noise concentrate of urban violence.” — Rumore Magazine
Debut album »The Sweet Smell Of Unrest« available now on Improved Sequence Records
Baratro was born when guitarist Federico Bonuccelli (Council of Rats) and bassist Dave Curran (Unsane) met at a show in legendary Milan squat Cox18 and started to trade riffs and song ideas. These experiments led to the band’s creation, with Luca Antonozzi (Marnero) joining in to complete the lineup. After a few months of practice and a couple of shows in Italy, they recorded their very first six songs in the empty concert hall of Cox18, consequently released as the »Terms And Conditions« EP via Sangue Dischi Records in July 2021. Given the worldwide shutdown of live performances through 2020/2021, the band focused on writing new music and eventually started tracking down eleven tracks for their first full-length effort »The Sweet Smell Of Unrest«, released in the winter of 2024 through Improved Sequence Records.
