Jersey heavy prog rockers Gurnslinger have signed with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records.

Rising from the rugged shores of Jersey, Gurnslinger has officially signed with Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records to release their highly anticipated debut album, »Who Killed The World?«, set for release in 2025. To mark the announcement, the band has unleashed a brand-new video, now available here.

In the depths of a cold, dark January, Gurnslinger retreated into the remote setting of Rozel Bay, Jersey – a small island off the north coast of France – to craft their debut. The desolate landscape provided the perfect backdrop for the album’s post-apocalyptic themes. As the winter raged outside, local shaman Lucas Sauner documented the sessions in full, using his makeshift studio on an old farm.

The result? A raw and unfiltered sonic journey that fuses stoner rock, progressive structures, punk attitude, and an unconventional setup into an apocalyptic masterpiece. The band’s creative process was fueled by relentless jam sessions, a generous supply of ale, and an ever-present backdrop of Mad Max: Fury Road looping on a battered TV, seeping dystopian imagery into their collective consciousness.

For the final mix, London-based producer Steve Sears Jr. (Gallows, Conjurer, The Hell, WACO) was enlisted to bring the vision to life, ensuring the band’s unique sound was captured in all its chaotic, immersive glory.

Formed in late 2022, Gurnslinger embodies the spirit of resistance in a world on the brink of collapse. Their isolated existence has shaped their music into a harrowing reflection of doom, decay, and the inevitability of the end, yet their music pulses with a rebellious energy – a last gasp of defiance against the dying light.

Set for release in 2025 via Octopus Rising / Argonauta Records, »Who Killed The World?« is a genre-defying exploration of societal collapse and environmental decay, all through the band’s uniquely unfiltered sonic lens.
