Paddang is a psychedelic rock trio formed in Toulouse (France) in 2020. With Osees and King Crimson all over the radio and a band name inspired by a surf spot in Indonesia, Paddang are speeding through a cosmic epic that sounds like a Herbert prophecy. Far from hiding behind a wall of fuzz or a mountain of reverb, the three voices dictate the tone and invoke an urgent need to do something in a world on the brink of chaos. Their debut album »Chasing Ghosts« was released in March 2023, backed up by a fifty-date tour in France (including festivals such as Ecaussystème, Musicalarue, Montauban en scènes, Guitare en Scène, V&B Fest and support slots with bands such as MADAM, Pogo Car Crash Control, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, It It Anita).
Their second album will be released in June 2025 on Le Cèpe Records & Stolen Body Records. The first single »Pressure«, accompanied by a video clip, will be released on Friday April 4th.

»Pressure« sets the scene for the album: a planet in decline, where empires and civilisations are crumbling under the weight of power struggling for the control of a mysterious stone of a legendary energy, the »Draconite«. Carried by a unifying chorus, the track is a rallying cry for survival and unity. The raw fuzz sounds contrast with the pop-psych tones of the track, illustrating the duality and influences that run through this album. Shot like the first episode of a B-movie, the video features Moros (the protagonist we’ll be following throughout the story of the new album), who wakes up in her lair and embarks on a perilous quest to find the origin of a devastating force. Along the way, she bitterly observes how her world has changed… Dust and desert gradually replace the surrounding nature. The tension mounts until it reaches a climax in front of an enigmatic cave, where industrialists, oblivious to nature’s warnings, are unscrupulously mining Draconite. Gathered around the stone as if in ritual, they seem to be trying to summon something.
»Lost In Lizardland« is the soundtrack to an SF road movie that sounds like a Herbert prophecy. An improbable, almost absurd story, in which the listener evolves as he listens to each track. Much more than a simple children’s fable, this album proves to be a real warning about current global issues, so obvious are the parallels with our own reality. These 8 new tracks tell the story of Moros, a disillusioned young woman trying to survive in a world on the brink of collapse. It’s a rich, bewitching universe of contrasts, just like Paddang’s sound identity, where fuzz guitars rub shoulders with reverberant landscapes, while the voices unite to pave the way for unbridled rock that’s both raw and luminous. Recorded and mixed by Cédric Forestier at Stud du Sud, then mastered by Olivier Planchard, »Lost In Lizardland« develops a massive sound where the band’s heavy psych, garage and pop influences have never been so evident.
