French melodic death doom project Wurmian unleashed its debut album, »Immemorial Shrine«, on April 6th, 2025 via Pest Records. Rooted in the atmospheric and emotionally charged landscapes of 90s death and doom metal, Wurmian crafts a soundscape that merges melody and brutality, offering an immersive listening experience for fans of early Katatonia, In Flames, and Amorphis.

Founded in 2024 by Antoine Scholtes, the mastermind behind atmospheric black metal project Inherits The Void, Wurmian emerges with a mission to resurrect the essence of classic melodic death doom. Drawing inspiration from the melancholic and introspective tones of bands like October Tide, Horrified, and Edge Of Sanity, »Immemorial Shrine« embraces the duality of soaring melodies and crushing heaviness.

The album unfolds across seven compositions, guiding the listener through desolate and introspective soundscapes, where solitude and existential dread intertwine. With ethereal passages and rhythmic sections influenced by death metal, »Immemorial Shrine« masterfully balances nostalgia with modern production, ensuring a dynamic and deeply resonant experience.
