Acid Rooster are back, but apparently only to refuel their spacecraft and pack some new plants.
With a sound that conjures up the spirit of the German kraut and psych-rock pioneers, the three Franconian musicians from Leipzig celebrate suspenseful, free-thinking instrumental music on their partly written and improvised albums, which often develops a trance-like undertow and gradually builds up to breathtaking climaxes.
Only four songs are enough for an album-filling journey!!!
Their new album »Hall Of Mirrors« will be released on the three labels Tonzonen (EU), Cardinal Fuzz (UK) and Little Cloud Records (US). The album comes in three different vinyl colors and on CD. Grab your copy here: acidrooster.bandcamp.com

The character of all Acid Rooster releases is shaped by their respective creation process. For example, the cosmic, shimmering »Ad Astra« was created as a one-take during a private garden party. This time, the four pieces of the new album were recorded in their basic framework in July 2022 on two off days of their first UK tour in the Dystopia Studios in Glasgow with Scottish producer Jason Shaw. Only later did the three childhood friends add overdubs to the live tracks in their adopted home of Leipzig, which made »Hall Of Mirrors« an extremely complex, very psychedelic soundscape. In addition to additional guitars and percussion instruments, they also added saxophone, shruti box, synthesizer, mellotron, flute, vibraphone and much more. The mastering was done by Grammy-nominated engineer Joseph Carra in his Crystal Studios in Australia (responsible for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard albums, among others), who was so immersed in the recordings and so captivated by the soundscapes that he excitedly called producer Jason Shaw to say that he hadn’t been able to work on such a melodious and interesting release for years.
Acid Rooster have once again presented a work made up of four individual parts that open up their own worlds when heard separately, but form a coherent whole as an album. The close familiarity of guitarist Sebastian Väth with his dizzyingly extensive arsenal of effects stands out here just as imaginatively as the experimental excursions of bassist Max Leicht with electronic gimmicks to the stoic conciseness of the busy drummer Steffen Schmidt.
Recorded at Dystopia Studios Glasgow in Scotland in July 2022 by Jason Shaw. Mixed by Jason Shaw at Fuzzface Studios, Ayrshire in Scotland. Mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering Studios, Thornbury in Australia. Artwork by Marco Heinzmann / Super Quiet, Würzburg.
