Cold on the inside, a little blackened around the edges…

Drawn down from wintry New England mountains to settle in the sweltering birthplace of US death metal, A Sow Of Violence can be difficult to categorize. Nestled somewhere in a sonic territory perhaps best described as blackened doom death metal, the lines intentionally blur between genres.

A Sow Of Violence formed in 2020 with an intent to explore existentialism. Set against the backdrop of dark sonic landscapes, crushing riffs, and haunting melodies, a global pandemic acted as the midwife to the twisted birth of chaos and beauty, joy and pain, life and death.

“I approach every project with the same goal,” says artist and visionary Jason Korolenko, “to create something that sounds like Type O Negative fornicating with Kauan in a fog-drenched cemetery where »Danzig IV« plays through tinny speakers in the background. And every time, I fail miserably.”
