Dayton OH’s Gaia Weeps – formerly known as Gainsayer – return not only under a new moniker, but with a new drummer and refreshed intensity on their latest EP, entitled »No One Gets Out Alive«. The EP, which is being released independently on March 7, is comprised of four new tracks that are an unrelenting explosion of angst-filled sludge, doom and crust.

Featuring members of Imbroglio, and Solidification, Gaia Weeps is Frank Harmon (vocals, guitar), Darrell J. Gilbert Jr. (vocals, bass) and Mike Dyer (drums, backing vocals) all operating as a cohesive unit to unleash the band’s most aggressive offering to date. »No One Gets Out Alive« is the follow-up to their 2024 LP, »Belligerence«, and while the EP maintains all of the visceral and abrasive tones of the previous release, the now three-piece have honed their sound even further and created an offering that is exceptionally raw and heavy on every level.

Gaia Weeps has skillfully dialed in their approach, as there’s a thoughtful cohesion to this EP that is quite impressive. The musicianship is tight and the songwriting is focused, showcasing their evolution as a band. It’s obvious that they create for themselves, without any agendas or trying to satisfy any external influences, which contributes to the distinct authenticity and fierceness that Gaia Weeps exudes.
