“Transitioning emotions into sonic landscapes, Funeral Joke began in 2024 having humble beginnings acoustically to what is it now and what it will be.

Join us on this pilgrimage into uncharted territories as we journey through the heart of the soul of expression and of art and sound and see what comes at the end of it… the light, the dark or something new.”

Live in distorted ways… Picking up the pieces of the profound devastation and transitioning emotions into sonic landscapes, Funeral Joke began as a neofolk acoustic duo in May of 2024 and has since made a name for themselves in the El Paso music scene with their energetic live shows and haunting music blending elements of post-metal, doomgaze, grunge and post-punk as well as goth and sludge metal.

Proving they cannot be tied down to just one sound, Funeral Joke differ from many of their musical contemporaries here in the West Texas scene and have shared the stage with such heavyweights as EyeHateGod, Calabrese, Sculpture Club, Temptress, Zombeast and The Discussion with many of them praising the band for their jaw dropping performances and are now ready to expand the gospel of Funeral Joke out to the rest of the world. You have been warned.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Adrian Palacios at Stillframe Records in El Paso Texas.
Additional keys and synths by Anessa Hernandez.
