American desert rock/grunge trio The Absurd presents their new three-track EP, »Nox«, which was just released on March 24th, 2023 via Bent Knee Records.

Tracklist:
01. Wake
02. Like A Hurricane
03. Queen (Of The Hyrcanian Rainforest)

The Absurd is a true power trio, firing off catchy hooks and thunderous riffs with equal potency. Originating from Detroit, forged in the fires of Los Angeles, and now based in Nashville, the band is best known for their explosive live show. They’ve “melted the paint off the walls at just about every club” they’ve played, and have been featured on stages ranging from Music Festivals to Gay Pride to Underground Art Galleries to Biker Bars and everything in between.

The band’s debut LP was released in 2018, followed by 2020’s »The Sun Still Rises«, with both meriting inclusion in multiple best-of-year lists. »The Absurd Goes To The Beach« followed in 2021, initially released as a bandcamp exclusive, before being issued to streaming services in late spring 2022.

Already back in the studio working on multiple new records, The Absurd are never at a loss for material. They refine their unique desert rock meets grunge sound further on a pair of two EPs, the first of which is slated for release in early 2023, with an LP and two more EPs on the way.

»Nox« EP is the first entirely self produced effort from The Absurd. Engineered and mixed by Ben Foerg, it features some of the most accessible and catchy songs from the band, while simultaneously being perhaps their heaviest release to date.

But don’t rest easy, cuz the »Nox« EP is soon to be followed by the band’s third full-length album, later this year, and a sequel EP (»Lux«), out early next year.

The Absurd is:
Ben Foerg – Guitar/Vox
Josh Loney – Bass
Colin Jensen – Drums

“A firm middle finger to the rising fascist agenda in America.” – Henrik Thorgerson, Hollywood Metal

“Super-groovy and melodic with energy by the crateful. It makes you think of Iggy & The Stooges having a noisy jam with Nirvana and their mates.” – Classic Rock Magazine
