Sleep Throne emerged in 2018 from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, as a dark and evolving force in underground metal. Initially rooted in melodic black metal, they rapidly expanded into a textured blend of doom and death metal – marked by deep, droning atmospheres and crushing heaviness.

Led by multi-instrumentalist Brett Benfer, Sleep Throne’s sound is defined by immersive riffs and cavernous vocals that conjure a sense of lingering dread. Their 2023 EP, »Understanding What It Means To Die«, solidified their shift toward doom/death mastery.

Their momentum only intensified into 2025 with »A Moody Quote About Life« and, most recently, their debut full-length album »Tales From The Bog« (June 2025). Clocking in at nearly 36 minutes across three sprawling compositions, this album cements their reputation for crafting dense, atmospheric despair.
