American funeral doom/sludge solo project Doubleplusungood presents compilation »Loathsome Christ«

Carrollton, Georgia based funeral doom/sludge solo project Doubleplusungood has just released a collection of tracks, called »Loathsome Christ«, on March 30th, 2026.

Doubleplusungood is a one-man sludge project by Eric E. Crowe (Doomsayer Records, Crawl), resurrecting material that traces back to the early 2000s.

In 2002, »Loathsome Christ« began as a raw boombox recording from a rehearsal featuring Eric Crowe, Erick Dunlap, Patrick Lowe, and Paul Warren – later released as a limited CDR single. The project resurfaced briefly a few years later with Crowe and Patrick Lowe, recording »Warren’s Dead«, but the material was ultimately shelved.

Originally created under Her Name Is Death – now evolved into a funeral doom project – these recordings remained buried for over two decades.

In March 2026, they were finally completed, mixed, and mastered, emerging as Doubleplusungood’s debut release, »Loathsome Christ« – a three-track document of decay featuring »Wrath Of The Lamb«, »Loathsome Christ«, and »Warren’s Dead«.
