Heathen Tongues is Devin Mendoza and Shane Falkenhart, two old friends who craft their own brand of sludge/doom/post-metal that plays like a devastating soundtrack to the alternate universe we have all found ourselves living in.

Current and former members of Adai, Black Lamb, Burn Heavy, Security Threat, and Yuriko, these dudes have decades of combined experience in national touring acts playing every level of venue.

Don’t be fooled by their lack of numbers, though. Heathen Tongues makes an enormous amount of noise live with a custom backline (shout out to Atlas Cabinets) built to keep your chest shaking and your ears ringing.

Now fresh out of the studio, the duo has just released two brand new singles as their debut EP »Neurogenesis«. Recorded at The Band Cave (Blood Incantation, Wayfarer, Archspire, Cattle Decapitation) with Collin Ingram, mixed by Matt Bayles (Botch, Mastodon, Isis, Pearl Jam) at Red Room, and mastered by Brad Boatright (discography so big it’s crazy) at Audiosiege. The production perfectly captures the energy created.

These two tracks are only a preview to the full-length completed with the same production team. Currently in the artwork phase, Heathen Tongue’s debut LP has an expected release date of February 2027, following a music video dropping December 2026.

Says the band, “We’re just two old friends, with heavy riffs, driving rhythms, peace, love, and all of that other hippie bullshit.”

Armed with crushing volume, an immersive new album, and a captivating live show, nothing can stand in their way.

The quest for sonic domination has begun.
