Silent Vigil is a melodic death/doom band from Athens, Georgia by Tim Rowland. The spiritual successor to Tim’s former band, Woccon.

Tim Rowland recalls: “If you were unaware of my history with melo-death/doom, it all started back in 2011 with my old band Woccon. We had two releases: »The Wither Fields« in 2013 and »Solace In Decay« in 2014. There was a follow up full-length recorded in 2019 that, if you’ve followed the band in the past you’ll know, was lost due to a PC failure and couldn’t be recovered. Shortly after Woccon disbanded and I moved onto other projects for several years. Silent Vigil is definitely a spiritual successor to Woccon. This past year I decided to revisit the lost Woccon album and resurrect the spirit of what was trying to be achieved, reworking some ideas, but mostly building off of what was there to create entirely new songs.

Woccon released all physical media via Deathbound Records. All music is still up streaming on all the major platforms (Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, Apple Music)!

The years of its existence between 2011-2020 really shaped who I am and how I write. You can definitely hear its threads throughout most of my projects, even if they are completely different genres. I will always have a heart for melancholy.”
