Eugene, Oregon based psychedelic death/doom metal duo C.I.A Hippie Mind Control is back with their new EP, »Dust (Part 2)«, which was just released on July 1st, 2026 through FallAwake.

Says the band: “This epic is the conclusion of the lyrical and musical themes explored in its predecessor »Dust« (2025).”

C.I.A. Hippie Mind Control is a two-piece psychedelic death-doom and sludge metal band from Eugene, Oregon. Formed by multi-instrumentalist Chad Rauschenberger and drummer Greg Kohler, the prolific DIY duo has built a massive underground discography exploring heavy, doomy sounds and philosophical, dark, and cosmic themes.

Known for their uncompromising, lo-fi DIY aesthetic, the band has been consistently releasing a barrage of full-length albums and EPs, most notably releasing their album »Dust« and an extensive, multi-part release »Growing Old On A Dying Planet«. Their catalog features a massive collection of conceptual and sprawling doom tracks, as well as occasional eclectic covers, including their takes on »Rainbow Connection« and »Music Is Worth Living For«.

C.I.A. Hippie Mind Control self-releases their music and engages directly with their listeners through digital platforms, showcasing a sound that blends heavy sludge riffs with psychedelic atmospheres.

Their name is a highly deliberate, satirical nod to the local history of counterculture icon Ken Kesey (who lived and died near Eugene) and his accidental connection to the CIA’s real-life mind control program, Project MKUltra.
